Hutchinson Community College Physical Therapist Assistant Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.  The program is designed as a 1+1 program that allows students to take general education classes prior to admission to the program which can be taken at students own pace.  Once admitted to the program, you will complete the training in approximately 12 months that includes fall, spring and summer semesters.  HutchCC PTA Program has agreements with most clinical sites within commuting distance from Hutchinson.  This allows students clinical opportunities close to home.  However, opportunities farther away and even in other states are available if a student wishes to travel to other parts of the country.

Once the program is complete, career opportunities are available in a variety of areas including outpatient clinics, hospitals, neuro-rehab hospitals, long-term care facilities, pediatrics and others.  A graduate will receive an Associates of Applied Science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant.  Once completed, each graduate will be eligible to take the national boards to work as a physical therapist assistant.  This certification can follow a graduate anywhere in the United States.  Being a Physical Therapist Assistant is a very rewarding career that allows one to help those with debilitating injuries or illnesses return to work or activities they enjoy.
